Trim Audio Clips Windows 7

Here is a tutorial showing how to Trim an audio clip to post on media sites.

What you will need is:
1. Windows Movie Maker (I will be using version 2011)
2. Mp3 file
3. An image to use as your background. Here is the one I will be using for this tutorial:

1. Open up Windows Live Movie Maker and at the top click on Add Videos and Photos and find the background image that you will be using and select that:

2. It's time to add your audio, so go and select Add Music and browse to find your mp3 and select that.

3. This next step is very important so don't overlook it because it is going to drive you nuts if you do. You need to make sure that you get all of the audio loaded on there so you can edit it. So go to Project tab in the menu above. And make sure you select Fit to Music. Like this:

4. Please know that you have to save this first in wmv format to your computer before it will let you edit it. So let's do that now. To save the movie, in the upper left hand corner is a dark blue box with an arrow pointing down.

Click on that and then choose Save Movie then another box will come up and then choose To Computer. It will now have you name your movie and save it. You now have your movie saved in WMV and you are ready to trim your audio.

You can close the program out and reopen it or start a new project. However you choose, open up your new wmv file by clicking on click on Add Videos and Photos.

5. Now that your new wmv file is loaded, you will be able to use the player to view your movie so that you can select where you want to edit it.

To quickly trim a video in Movie Maker, play the video you want to trim, and then press the I key to make the current point the start point, or press the O key to make it the end point. When you have your trim all done then you can save your wmv file on your computer to upload on your media sites!
